The purpose of the game Together Again is to reunite two shapes. In life, there can be several traumatic or life changing events between two individuals, such as the unexpected death of loved ones, heart-wrenching breakups or unwanted embarassments. When events such as these occur, one often wishes for the ability to time travel to fix mistakes, stop accidents or change outcomes in general. This game uses that mechanic of allowing the player to "rewind" time, and attempt to correct your mistakes over and over again until you finally reunite the shapes. You can play the game below.
You can view the original project documentation on the class website.
To play the game (below), simply press Space to start and move your mouse under the falling square to guide it (with bounces). If you mess up, and the square falls beyond the frame of the window, fear not! You may have "lost" but this game is all about turning back time to correct your mistakes. By pressing and holding Space any time, you can rewind time and try again. Go ahead, try it out!
As you progress through the levels, gravity becomes stronger and stronger, making it more and more difficult to reunite with your lost connection. Once you reunite, the two shapes become one of the same again.
